Born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Melanie grew up and learned to love the sky the same way her biggest influence Joni Mitchell did (Mitchel is also from Saskatchewan). In her early 20's, Melanie moved to Toronto to pursue a career in acting. She was surprised when before she left her father handed her a 2nd hand acoustic Gibson guitar to take with her on her travels. She was even more surprised to find herself writing tunes on it. Her first song of merit "Butterfly" was written after her father passed away. This song gave her the courage to perform live and keep at it. Melanie now lives in "the Beach" are of Toronto, enjoying a healthy acting career and a blossoming music career. You can find her the first Saturday of every month hosting the popular Girls Girls Girls showcase at The Cameron House in Toronto. You can also hear her perform her original songs live the second Saturday of every month at The Liberty Bistro. |
